Dogs trying to look as cute as me!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

That’s me second from the left looking a bit above the other dogs.

As you have probably realised by now – I am very cute. In fact, I am so cute, that many other Subiaco dogs try to look like me! You can see from the photos that some of them are also very cute but not as cute as me!

There is Muddy from Olive Street and Grommit from Park Street. Then there is my neighbour Oscar and friends Samson, Benson, Max, Kosmo, Zaki, Muddie, and Sydney. Harry, Tags, Oscar, Juno,, Moby, Maddy and Maddie are also trying their best to mimic my looks.

My Mates and their Dog Tricks

Action Benjpg Action Leo copyjpg Action Jess copyjpg

My mates love doing tricks and being active at the park. As we are smart Subiaco dogs we have read the latest research on how essential it is to exercise and you can see that none of us are overweight. Of course the added bonus is that if we are good dogs we get a little treat from our mum or dad. You know how much us dogs love food.

In The photos you can see that Ben can do a one-legged wee and Jess is bowing as a sign she wants to play. Ned’s world is spinning around him while Poppy shows have clever she is by standing on her head.  Leo is also a polite hand shaker while Charlie, like most Collies, is good at fetch.

Of course the smartest dog is the one who is dancing – that’s me! Although I must say that Bonnie and Dougal dance well and Chivas looks like he is really having fun with the Zumba. Hugo, Pebbles and I demonstrate that it is fun to share our toys while Chutney and Frankie show off their jumping skill. Angus and Lily are having a play fight – they look a bit vicious!

To counter that you can see some dogs kissing and hugging and a few are having friendly meetings.

Subiaco Farmers Market Tails

As we near the library corner at Bagot and Rokeby Roads on our Saturday morning walk, I pull Mum toward the school. The smell of cooking pork sausages and bacon is stirring my brain cells and pouring lots of energy into my little legs.

I am very excited. I know the great tastes that go with that smell. I walk so fast my Mum struggles to hold me back. I zoom left through the gate into the school grounds toward the food stalls.

I have learned that once I get into the markets I have to walk slowly and act politely if I am to be allowed to stay. If  I get to close to the  food then Mum will take me to the Dog Parking Area that Katie the organizer has set up. Katie is a very kind and clever lady. She has made sure that the Dog Parking has  comfy mats and shade for the dogs that choose to lie there while their mum or dad shops.

Some days I lie down and meditate, thinking happily of meaty smells. Of course I also contemplate the surprise Mum might bring me back if I am a good dog.

Recently a new stall is providing dog baths. It is fun for me to watch the other dogs become skinny and soapy then ending up all clean and fluffy. My only concern is that mum might get the idea that I too need a bath. You know how much I dislike getting wet.

When I was a little dog I loved eating raw carrots, broccoli and cauliflower, but now my tastes have matured.  I prefer to eat GinGin Beef, Chorizo or tasty pork from the markets.

At each of the stalls, I pretend I am a new customer and ask the growers politely for a little taste of their food. They reply “Ok KoKo but you have to do a dance for us”. So I do some clever dancing spinning and they give me a treat. I am very clever when I am getting a food reward.

Subiaco Farmers Market Dogs

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA Koko1SFM Dog copy OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Most Subiaco residents go to the markets at the Subiaco Primary School to buy healthy and exciting food. We dogs go to inhale the wonderful smells of cooking pork and beef sausages!

It is a very social morning as lots of dogs have the same idea. We wander around sniffing the air and carefully avoid going too close to the food stalls so we don’t get told to “move on”.

The market staff never have to pay a cleaner after the market stalls have packed up for the day as us dogs have thoroughly scrounged around for all the dropped leftovers!

These are a few fellow Subiaco Farmers Market Mates.
