Hi all,

Mum Helen dropped me off for a weekend holiday with my doggie mates Bro and Bonnie at Mandurah while she spent time chatting to Yarloopians who had experienced the bushfire in 2016. She took photos of horses, goats, sheep, chooks, roosters, rabbits, cats and dogs!
These are some of the photo’s Mum took at Yarloop. Thank you to the owners for their animals’ stories
See Photos of the animals involved in the Yarloop Bushfire  also on www.facebook.com/FurryFriendsFotos.me/

Tales of Bushfire Animals Yarloop/Waroona/Harvey

Hi all in the Waroona/Yarloop/Harvey area
My mum Helen will be in the Yarloop/Harvey area on
Friday afternoon the 21st July,
Saturday 22nd July
to take free photos of your pets and animals and to listen to your stories.
All residents whose animals were evacuated, lost, found, injured or passed away are welcome to contribute to this project.
Kids are also welcome as, with your help, I hope to have some fun twists to the blogs.

I’ll also be at the Bowling club event on the Saturday night so please introduce yourself. Please like or comment on this post or email potter.helen@iinet.net.au to express your interest. Information forms are at the Community Centre and I will post some to your One stop shop. Regards

KoKo and Helen’s Yarloop visit

My Mum Helen and I had a great day at Waroona and Yarloop on Saturday. We chatted to the vet staff (They remembered me from last year and recognised me from my Fireman’s outfit). We had a chat to Robyn about her animals and the bushfire then Michael from the ABC in Bunbury interviewed. I hope lots of people with animals whom the bush fire affected will contact us. We are looking forward to hearing their stories and Mum will take photos of the cute animals.

Mum Helen will head down to Yarloop again on Sunday 21st July but I might need to stay home if she is taking photos. I get jealous if other pets get more attention than me!

Bushfire Pets Yarloop area – Pawsome Tales of Escape and Survival

My Mum Helen and I are starting an exciting new project. Here is the Post we put up on the Waroona Vets site:

Expression of Interest request to Yarloop residents and Waroona vet staff.

My human Mum Helen loves taking doggie photos. She also helps me write my blog about my mates in Subiaco.

We were very sad to hear of all the pets at Yarloop who were caught up in the bushfire last year and of those who had to move to new locations.

Mum and I collected lots of beds, food and toys and dropped them off at Waroona Vet when we heard the news. We hope you found our gifts from Subiaco dog owners helpful.

Mum and I would like to visit Yarloop (or wherever you are now located) to record some tales about how your pets survived and how they have recovered now.

Of course, Helen will take some cute photos. We could maybe have a small exhibition later, and even, if all goes well, – a book!.

As many of you know, I tend to write from my own doggie viewpoint. The tales you discuss with us will have the same flavour.

If your pet can communicate how he/she felt, or how you think they may have coped, they could tell their tale through you.

Do you feel ok about talking to us so that we can record your stories?

Some of you will have lost so much, we don’t want to intrude.

Please leave a comment on my blog here or email potter.helen@iinet.net.au

I have set up a closed group site on facebook. Animal Tales of a Bushfire

https://www.facebook.com/groups/1355507784528568/

I’m not sure how this works? But if we become friends then I can invite you to join the group I think.

Many thanks, Helen Potter Photographer and woofs from KoKo Potter

Bushfire doggies and moggies – Waroona and Yarloop WA- January 2016

Subiaco WA

January 2016

Hi Doggies and Moggies (and Chookies and horses),

My Mum Helen and I are dropping into Waroona tomorrow to leave you some comfy beds, food and toys, for those of you who have lost your homes. I hope some of you get to enjoy our contributions from the Subiaco and Hillary’s dogs. We know you will be feeling tired and anxious so some of us left our Wee-Mails on the blankets to enable you to smell of our concern and warm wishes.

I would also like to invite you to tell your tales on my blog at some point in the future. You can bark about your escape or woof about the sadness of loosing your mates and home. Or maybe you could tell us of your new lives now that homes are being rebuilt.

My Mum is good at translating Wee-mails but we live a bit far away. We might have to come down to visit when things have settled a bit.

My Mum loves taking photos of animals so if you would like to be the centre of attention, please let your humans know.
